How can the transition into university mathematics be designed in a way that builds on students\u2019 knowledge and experience while also highlighting the relevance of university mathematics for the teaching profession? This is the question we aim to explore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Improving the alignment between students\u2019 prior knowledge, their expectations, and the learning opportunities in introductory mathematics courses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing and implementing tasks that explicitly connect school and university mathematics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promoting reflection on the relevance of academic mathematics for school teaching, particularly among teaching degree students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening higher education teaching expertise within the Department of Mathematics and Data Science at Friedrich-Alexander-Universit\u00e4t Erlangen-N\u00fcrnberg<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Funding<\/strong><br>Innovation Fund for Teaching 2025\/26<br>Department of Mathematics internal funds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Relation to Other Projects<\/strong><br>Re:Math builds on the results of the doctoral project <em>\u201c<\/em>Der \u00dcbergang von der Schule zur Hochschule.
